This post is dedicated to our little one, Fave. And I will do it monthly until she is one (or more). Remember that blog post where I wrote a letter to her before she was born? I got this idea from that. I found it sweet and good for someone melancholic like me. When she is old enough, I will let her read each of the letters I will be writing.

This one is a bit late for posting, but this is when she turned one month old. What a precious month it is!

Dearest Fave,

You are one-month-old today! You will always be a reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Our first month with you is full of exciting discoveries as new parents. You are now our world in our small house. Your cries alarm us and make us laugh at the same time. We love staring at your small face even if we are not sure whose features you got the most. Now, you can also look at us intently, although you go cross eyed at times. Your fart and burp, which are as loud as those of your dad (most of the time), become our source of laughter. Your burp is our win, but not your hiccups. Dad loves to make you burp after a long session. Your sweet smiles while sleeping melt our hearts. You are so adorable!

You may not love taking a bath yet, but you always smell amazing! We are excited to kiss you soon. Your poops are definitely not your dad’s favorite, but he laughs when he sees you pee while being changed. Honey, you seem to enjoy teasing us by peeing when we have just opened your nappy to change it. You pee and poop a lot, but we are thankful for these signs of good health. You may dislike being covered with a blanket, as well as having your booties and mittens, but you love the feeling of my skin in contact with yours.

We have many bloopers this month, but let me share a very memorable one. When we had your first check up, it was just 13 days after your birth. Mom was still careful about movements due to her incision. So Dad carried you while in the hospital. When we were about to pay our consultation fee, we found out that we left dad’s wallet, as well as his phone. So we could not pay the doctor. Mommy did not bring any money with her, assuming that dad had his wallet. Thankfully, the doctor accepts online payments. Whew! Your dad said that he would forget his phone and wallet but not you.

May you keep growing healthily, Reyan Caris. We look forward to the months and years to come.

Love,

Mom and Dad
