Happy two months, baby! This month is surely tiring but satisfying. The Lord never fails to amaze us with His grace in taking care of you. So what is with this month?
Maybe one memorable event is when you had your first “kabag”. Whew! And the thing is we never knew you had it if not for Tita Rhea! She and Tito Jeric went to our place to bring our clock orders. When she held you, she felt that you were a bit bloated. You were also fussy at that time. Unfortunately, we had no aceite de manzanilla, the one being used in such cases. When you were just a few weeks old, we asked your titas to buy one for us. However, what they brought to us was efficascent oil. They mistook it for aceite because of the distinct green color. Thankfully, Tita Rhea would go to the supermarket after bringing the clock to us. They bought two bottles of that ointment for us.
Another highlight is how you grew bigger this month. During your first check-up, which is 13 days after your delivery, you weighed 3 kg. Now, at 2 months, you weigh 6 kg! Your pediatrician advised us to stop giving you multivitamins for now because you are too big for your age. Well, you have mommy’s premium milk so no worries.
Hmm. You also had your first anti-polio booster this month. However, there is no 5-in-1 vaccine available in the health center. That’s why you can’t have your ear piercing yet. Yep! We are excited to put earrings on you because you do not have much hair. They mistake you for a baby boy. Whew! We are praying to get your vaccine very soon.
What else can you do now? You started to suck your thumb. Or we must say your fist. You don’t know how to suck your thumb, baby. Sometimes, when daddy is bored, he would teach you how. But that’s a no-no actually. Well, let’s see where this will go in the coming months. You also started liking to sleep on your stomach. You sleep longer in that position than when you are on your back. You can also lift your head and turn them from side to side!
Your grasps are now firmer than before. And you start cooing also! Heart-melting! We love to hear you make sounds but not cries. When you coo at dawn, it is so loud that it can wake up Dad. You also start playing a bit. That’s why daddy bought your first toy this month. Sometimes you love it, sometimes not. It makes a sound when your feet touch it. And you are so good at kicking it!
In your first month, you didn’t like taking a bath, but you love it now! Lola from Batangas brought a chair-like thing for you to sit on while taking a bath, and you do sit still on it! You are not crying when you get splashed with water. Great job, baby! You also didn’t like your mittens and booties. But now, we think you do. Our room gets cooler at night, and you need them. And oh, you didn’t like a blanket before too, but now, you share it with mommy at night! Yes, that’s how behave you are. You do not get covered with it. We thank the Lord for the protection He is giving us every night. We always pray for angels to watch over you when we sleep. And they do a good job with it. Thank you, Jesus!
We love you our dearest Fave! We are excited to see you growing each day. Until next month!
Love,
Mom and Dad
